Theme-Based Low-Carb Links: Loose Skin

I've lost nearly 200 pounds, but still "look" like I'm fat
Of all the topics I have written about at the "Livin' La Vida Low-Carb" blog, one of the most popular ones has got to be the subject of "loose skin." You know, the kind of droopy, hanging blob of flesh that has nowhere to go after you lose a whole lotta weight like I did in 2004.
"Do you still have loose skin?" people ask me all the time. Um, it's certainly not gonna go away on its own, so YEP, it's STILL there. Squish squash...watch it wiggle, see it jiggle...boing boing...plop! The "loose skin" is just gonna have to stay there until I can finally get the skin removal surgery done to my stomach and inner thighs. That's not gonna happen until I can come up with about $15,000-20,000 smackaroos!
Sure, I'll just pull that out of my hat! HA! Until then, I'll keep blogging about this issue that EVERYONE seems to be so interested in. Here are all my links about the "loose skin" issue:

Jimmy, I thought I was the only guy who liked to show pixs of his stretch marks online! No, seriously, I share your concern over loose skin as it haunts me too, BUT I'm happy to report that when you lower you body fat percentage (NOT body weight) your skin does tighten up. I'm below 8% BF and I can see my top four ab muscles clearly while I still have loose skin and fat hanging. Besides following a ketogenic lifestyle, weight training is really not an option if you want to resculpt your body. And I'm talking about heavy powerlifting style. Have you measured your bodyfat % lately?
THANKS, Muata! I haven't checked my BF lately, but it was 12% a year and a half ago. I'll have it checked again soon. THANK YOU for your encouragement.
I agree with muata, and will add a couple extra tips that I haven't been able to test yet, but should work as far as my knowledge of molecular medicine can see:
1) Vitamin C: start taking a 1000mg sustained release vitamin C tablet with each meal. Vitamin C is vital in building and maintaining collagen as well as blood vessels, and so should play a role in skin elasticity.
2) Along these same lines, take 500mg each of L-Arginine, and L-Lysine each morning upon waking. Taking them on an empty stomach ensures maximum absorption, and these amino acids should also aid in building healthy skin and connective tissues that should assist your body in tightening everything up. You might also consider L-Carnitine, as this tends to improve fat metabolism. They can all be had for cheap from Swanson's online store.
3) Sea salt baths: treat yourself to a nice hot hour-long bath a couple times a week, except add in about a half-pound of pure sea salt to the water let it dissolve as the bath is drawn. This draws toxins out through your skin, and seems to improve my skin tone as well (plus it makes your muscles feel relaxed and happy--this is great after a workout.)
If you happen to try these things and they actually work, I'll be honored, and thrilled to read about your success! :)
Interesting tips! I may have to try this while losing a little more weight. THANKS!!!
